Dear Friend,

Thank you for considering serving as a YouthPride volunteer.

I believe YouthPride offers the richest of volunteer experiences. At our next volunteer orientation you can become even more mindful of your relationship with the next generation, attentive to the concerns and challenges of today's LGBTQ youth, and inspired by a vision of a hopeful future for all generations.

Volunteers are the backbone of this organization. We continue to need your help so that we are successful in making coming-out an experience that is shared, celebrated, and safe. At times that will mean you serving as a host for youth at the center, as the facilitator of a group, doing office tasks, maintenance chores, publicity, and volunteering at fundraising activities.

Don't miss out on our up coming special events or programs - please click on the following link to ensure you are included on our mailing list,
subscribe-916@en.groundspring.org.

Our current needs include:

After School Center Hosts. Welcome youth each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during our Drop-in hours, 4-6.30pm.

Newsletter editor. OutLoud has need for an editor and writers. We want to cover YP activities in particular and give attention to national developments of interest as well. The newsletter goes to all donors, friends, supports, and youth three times a year.

Art assistants. For our new art program meeting once/month on Fridays. Are you creative? Do you like to get messy?

Discussion Group Facilitators. Group facilitators help guide weekly discussion groups and serve as an active mentor to several LGBT youth .This is a great opportunity for someone who is great with groups of young people, out-going, and a good conversation starter!

Design expertise. Wanna do a makeover for the center? Trading places with a posh downtown firm? We welcome some expert input on our lounge and office space. We need floor and table lamps, carpets, and modular shelving.

Software and Hardware experts. Become YouthPride's IT department and put your computer geekiness to good use. Can you keep up with our very technologically sophisticated members?

And remember, we encourage all volunteers to think about their passions, skills, and interests and propose volunteer projects and opportunities. We encourage all volunteers to involve youth in the design and execution of any project.

Thanks for you interest and support.
Edward R. Gray, Ph.D.
Executive Director.
